My Collection: Urbis ZX2
The urbis ZX2 is the smaller version of the urbis ZX3, they could run 100 or 150w SON or metal halide lamps, this example runs a 150w SON lamp, and I believe it was originally installed on the slip road of portsway junction in Milton Keynes. It has a white canopy and it has urbis branded parmar gear.
The NEMA socket, it has a date of 1993, I think they were installed in 1994 though.
The optic, I think it’s made of acrylic as it hasn’t yellowed!
The lantern is opened by undoing two metal clips at the back, and then the canopy hinges open. The gear consists of a parmar HSZ150 ballast, a urbis branded parmar PAE40” ignitor and a capacitor.
