Here is my third thorn beta 5 in the collection. When I first got it, it didn't work properly and it just tripped the RCD, but I fully disassembled it and spray painted the geartray with radiator paint and I rewired it with a new ballast and ignitor. I also replaced the original shallow bowl with a deep bowl as the original bowl had a large hole and a few cracks in it. It runs a 35w SOX lamp and has a Royce-Thompson two part photocell on it 

The lantern can be opened up by undoing a plastic clip at the front of the lantern and hinging the bowl downwards
